Maureen J. Bright
Throughout her legal career, Ms. Bright has concentrated on business litigation matters in state and federal courts, including litigation involving a variety of business torts, contractual disputes, real property damage, construction litigation, and environmental matters. Ms. Bright is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. She regularly renders advice concerning liability under various state and federal environmental laws, including for example CERCLA, RCRA, SARA, the California Oil and Gas Conservation Act, the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, and the California Porter-Cologne Water Quality Act. Ms. Bright has extensive experience in the preparation of environmental investigation and remediation plans with outside environmental consulting firms.
Ms. Bright received her law degree in 1978 from Loyola University School of Law, and her undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California in 1972. Between 1972 and 1975, Ms. Bright worked for Southern California Edison Company as an architect involved in the design and construction of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station and the Kaiparowits and Mojave Coal Slurry Generating Stations. She participated in the preparation of the voluminous environmental impact statements affiliated with the respective permitting, construction and renovation of these plants. Ms. Bright joined Bright and Brown as a partner in 1982.
